Earlier in the last week of June, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets got its vote of approval from critics after its advance screening. Journalists paraded Twitter and other social platforms to share their utmost appreciation for the movie.
The Sci-fi film is expected to be a massive success at domestic box office. But it looks like the studio is planning to rack millions in other regions outside the US as well.
An earlier report from Indulge had revealed that Valerian will be hitting 1000 screens in India. PVR Cinemas has taken up the initiative to release the Sci-fi film across the country the next week after its worldwide release. Here’s what the CEO of the entertainment company had to say.
“We have seen the movie and are in awe with the magic that Luc Besson has created on screen. A movie of this scale warrants for a huge release, hence the decision to release it in around 1,000 screens,” said CEO Gianchandani.
The CEO of PVR Pictures has also revealed that Valerian will be dubbed in the major three Indian languages Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The Sci-fi film is being released in multiple languages for the betterment of audience’s experience in India.
“We are also dubbing the movie in three Indian languages to target a broad base of viewers. Indian market has been quite receptive to sci-fi and action movies, and we are hopeful that this movie will do well here.”
For those unaware, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is a Sci-fi film directed by Luc Besson. Starring Cara Delevingne, Dane DeHaan and Rihanna.
In the past, the masses have been critical of Delevingne’s acting skills. However, going by the early positive responses, it looks like the actress has pull-off the role and has managed to appeal to the audience.
Recently, Delevingne was also featured on the cover of GQ. The actress stunned the masses with her sexy futuristic attire for the photo shoot. Fans can check out the cover below.
