Venom Box Office Earnings On Track To Surpass Justice League & Logan

Sony Pictures’ recently released Venom movie is right on track to surpass both Justice League and Logan in terms of box office collections. The film’s massive success comes as a surprise considering the fact that it was completed blasted by critics prior to release.

Venom has already raked in more than $378 million at the global box office on an estimated $100 million production budget, which is much smaller as compared to the budget of any of the five Spider-Man films produced by Sony. It has become the 16th highest-grossing movie of 2018 so far.

With the film now scheduled to release in China next month, it is expected that the earning figure might even hit the $600 million mark. That could put it above Logan ($619 million) and even Justice League ($657.9 million), reported Comic Book Movie

Venom is set to release in China on November 8, a full month after its domestic release. It will follow Shane Black’s reboot The Predator, which will release in China on Oct. 26. Aquaman is another film in the list which is making its way to the country. The Warner Bros. underwater superhero film will release in China on December 7, two weeks before the film’s international release on December 21.

Talking more about Venom, the film revolves around Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock, a journalist who becomes host to a dangerous alien symbiote while investigating a company called Life Foundation that experiment on humans. Riot, played by Riz Ahmed, is the film’s main antagonist.

Venom is directed by Ruben Fleischer from a script co-written by Jeff Pinkner, Scott Rosenberg, and Kelly Marcel. The film also stars Michelle Williams, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, Jenny Slate, Woody Harrelson, Sope Aluko, Scott Deckert, Marcella Bragio, and Michelle Lee.
