Thor: Love and Thunder new still featuring Tessa Thompson’s King Valkyrie and Natalie Portman’s Mighty Thor seated on what seems like a Throne have left MCU fans gasping. If that wasn’t enough – the promo may have also confirmed Thor 4’s connection to Black Panther or better put, to Wakanda’s pantheon, specifically Bast.
After a debut trailer and a few new still for Thor: Love and Thunder, Marvel Studios has largely been mum in promoting the upcoming flick starring Chris Hemsworth. Though the press tour began in April – prior to the trailer reveal, plot details regarding Portman’s involvement as Mighty Thor is still scarce. But the new promo still released on Disney’s media site suggest King Valkyrie’s queen might be Jane Foster. In fact, early rumors indicated that Valkyrie would find her empress in the fourth installment.

The Marvel fandom is rather caught up in the visually pleasing aspect of the two superheroes, especially Portman whose drastic body transformation can clearly be seen in the photo, a fitting look for a Mjolnir-wielding goddess. Other eagle-eyed fanatics were shocked to see a woman seated below resembling Black Panther’s attire. Could it be the god known as Bast appearing through an Avatar like Moon Knight or perhaps the Panther God in human disguise? Readers can check the reactions below.

All signs indicate Thor 4 will finally explore the LGBTQ aspect of Valkyrie, something that was excluded in Thor: Ragnarok. Director Taika Waititi has also hinted at a romance that could get viewers off guard. But it’s unclear if Valkyrie’s search for her queen could ultimately be none other than Jane Foster.
It shouldn’t come much as a surprise to see Bast since casting Russell Crowe as Zeus confirmed Love and Thunder will be visiting gods from other planes of existence as well. Moreover, with Gorr the God Butcher (Christain Bale) on the hunt, it’s more likely the Gods could be convening an emergency meeting of sorts? It remains to be seen but director Waititi has assured in his opinion, he’s the “best villain” by far in Marvel.
