Christmas week will be a delight for some thanks to upcoming releases such as Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye finale as well as the A-listers starring comedic disaster sci-fi, Don’t Look Up featuring Leonardo DiCaprio. This Holiday season is perfect for cinephiles to tune in on binge-worthy TV shows or blockbuster flicks on Disney Plus Hotstar, Netflix and Amazon Prime. So here’s a tidy list of content to check out in India on Christmas Eve.
From Money Heist to Lost in Space final season, a few fan-favorite TV shows bid their farewell this 2021. Fortunately, before the year wraps up, OTT giants have some new offerings for subscribers to check out. While Netflix, Disney Plus and Amazon Prime have a sleeve of exciting content for the international library, the same usually does not reflect for the Indian region OTT. So here’s my hand-picked selection from the streaming services to watch:
Hawkeye episode 6 – Dec 22 (Disney Plus Hotstar)
The Suicide Squad – Dec 22 (Amazon Prime)
Emily in Paris: Season 2 – Dec 22 (Netflix)
Don’t Look Up – Dec 24 (Netflix)
Cobra Kai: Season 4 –Dec 31 (Netflix)
Other than James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, Earlier last Saturday, Amazon Prime updated its service to add 23 films from the James Bond Universe. And for the MCU fans hungover from watching Spider-Man: No Way Home, the first two Spider-Man films are available on Netflix thanks to Sony’s new deal. Also, Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2 are also on the platform. Lets not forget the recently released The Witcher season 2 already streaming on Netflix.
The start of 2022 looks promising and one particular show for classic soap opera fans to check up on is Hulu’s How I Met Your Mother. Although the network is not accessible in India, it’s likely Disney Plus Hotstar will showcase the series internationally since Hulu belongs to the Mouse House.
The Last Duel, Ridley Scott’s controversial historical film is also now available on Hotstar. Still, Disney Plus India had some answering to do for K-drama fans as Snowdrop failed to stream on the platform on its official release date. Though the streaming service has assured a later release date, currently TBA. Nonetheless, the near future looks bright with exciting new binge-worthy titles for 2022.
