Warner Bros.’ upcoming title from the DC film slate, Wonder Woman 1984 is a few months away from its August release date. The studio recently changed its scheduled release due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. But on the bright side, it looks like promotions for the movie is slowly ramping up for its hopeful theatrical release.
Pursue News received new hi-res stills from Wonder Woman 1984 from the studio featuring Cheetah (Kristen Wiig), Diana Prince (Gal Gadot). Some fans may remember seeing a lower version of the same stills which were published in a magazine earlier last month. You can check out the hi-res version below.
Meanwhile, director Patty Jenkins recently spoke out about the development of a spin-off Wonder Woman project based on the Amazonians. Moreover, she hopes for the project to see the light before a third film Wonder Woman film.
“I’m not going to nail down a fresh thought about it until this movie comes out, because I kind of want to give myself a palette cleanser, and be fresh of mind,” she told Total Film. “But yeah, there’s an arc that I have in mind for the first movie, and then the second movie, and then the Amazon movie, and then the third movie.”
Earlier rumor had indicated the directors interest in making a spin-off film based on the Amazonians and it seems to have been true all along. It’s possible that Jenkins could convince the studio to greenlit production of the spin-off based on the success of Wonder Woman 1984.
“I’m not going to direct it, hopefully,” Jenkins reportedly said with a smile. “I’m going to try really hard not to. It’s not going to be easy. But [WW84 co-writer and former DC Entertainment President and Chief Creative Officer] Geoff Johns and I came up with the story, and we sold the pitch, and we’re going to get it going. I’ll produce it, for sure.”
Wonder Woman 1984 will hit theaters on August 14, 2020.
