Wonder Woman 2: Fans React To Kristen Wiig’s First Look As Barbara Minerva

Wonder Woman 2 director Patty Jenkins has finally unveiled the first look of the film’s main antagonist Kristen Wiig’s Barbara Minerva aka Cheetah. The director took to Twitter to share the first picture of Wiig in Wonder Woman 1984 in the same manner as she shared Gadot and Pine’s first look from the film. The picture in question shows Wiig wearing a 1980s style dress and hairdo, standing in front of an exhibit at the Smithsonian.

Enter Barbara Minerva,” Jenkins captioned the picture. You can have a look at the picture below.

In the comics, Barbara Minerva is a British archaeologist who comes in contact with a supernatural tribal ritual in the ancient city of Urzkartaga that possesses her with the spirit of Cheetah. It is likely that the picture shared by Jenkins shows Minerva in her pre-transformation look. It is rumored that Diana Prince and Minerva will have a friendly relationship before the Cheetah transformation takes place in Wonder Woman 2.

It often happens that fans get the first look of actors through leaked set pictures. But this time Jenkins has up the game by sharing the first look of Gal Gadot, Chris Pine and Kristen Wiig herself on social media instead of trying to keep everything under wraps.

Wonder Woman 1984 is currently filming outdoors in the Washington DC area. The crew is expected to soon make their way to the Canary Islands to shoot a huge scene with around 2,000 extra actors.

Gal Gadot is also rumored to showcase a special teaser Wonder Woman 2 at the San Diego Comic-Con 2018 event next month.

DC fans seem to be quite happy with Barbara Minerva’s first look but they are still craving for the ultimate Cheetah reveal.

Many of them took to Twitter to react to the villain’s first look as Barbara Minerva and fans seem to agree with her casting as she certainly has the looks of her comic counterpart.

You can check out their reactions in the tweets below.
