After filming for a couple of days in the Washington D.C., Wonder Woman 2 crew members are now heading to the Canary Islands to shoot a huge scene with around 2,000 extra actors. The scene will be shot on the Fuerteventura Island, which is a part of the Canary Islands.
According to a report by Canarias 7, The shooting will reportedly contribute $23 million to the local economy.
The principal photography on Wonder Woman 2 will take place in multiple locations, including Washington DC and Virginia in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Spain.
As the title suggests, Wonder Woman 1984’s story will be set in 1984 during the Cold War. The film will feature Gal Gadot reprising her role as Princess Diana, Kristen Wiig as Cheetah, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor and Pedro Pascal in an undisclosed role. Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins is returning to direct the sequel.
Trevor’s return in the upcoming film is still a big mystery for fans considering the fact that the character actually died during the climax of the first Wonder Woman movie. There are even rumors that the person seen with Diana is not the real Steve as he is in someone else’ body. It will be quite interesting to find out how Trevor’s plot will unfold in Wonder Woman 2.
A lot of pictures and videos clips of Gadot as Diana and Chris as Steve shooting together can be found all over the social media, all thanks to fans and extras who were at the set during its filming. The actress was also recently spotted performing a stunt scene on a wire rig and gliding through the air.
Gadot is expected to release an exclusive Wonder Woman 2 teaser during Warner Bros.’ presentation at the San Diego Convention Center, which will run from July 19 through July 22.
Wonder Woman 1984 is set to debut in theaters on November 1, 2019.
