Warner Bros. has offered some new updates about the highly awaited film, Wonder Woman 2, at the 2018 Licensing Expo in Las Vegas. Some concept art presented during the event featured a preview of Gal Gadot’s new look in the upcoming film as well as Kirsten Wiig’s look as villain Cheetah.
One of the 2018 Licensing Expo attendees, Daniel Eliesen, took to Twitter to share the news. He provided brief descriptions of Wonder Woman and Cheetah’s look in the upcoming film. According to Eliesen, Diana’s new costume had the 80s themed headgear and some brand new armor. He described Wonder Woman’s new costume as battle gear. The attendees were also presented with a small preview of Cheetah’s look in the film.
“Cheetah was literally a tease image based on what they want it to look like. Hard to explain but probably what you think, for WW it’s a battle gear, pretty cool.” said Eliesen. Unfortunately, the tweets are no longer available to view as the account’s tweets are protected.
Talking more about Wonder Woman 2, director Patty Jenkins recently teased that the film’s production work will begin soon.
During an interview with Variety at the Cannes 2018 event, when Jenkins was asked when the sequel would begin filming, she replied that it would begin soon.
“There’s nothing I can say — very soon. Shockingly soon,” the Wonder Woman director said.
According to rumored reports, Wonder Woman 2’s shooting will likely begin at the end of this month or early next month on the Spanish Canary Island of Tenerife.
Fans are pretty excited about the upcoming film as Jenkins has already confirmed that the film would feature Wonder Woman at the peak of her powers. So, fans are hopeful that they will be treated with even bigger action set sequences featuring the Amazon warrior.
Set during the Cold War, Wonder Woman 2 is expected to showcase the Amazonian Princess Diana battling against the Soviet Union in the 1980s. The actors already confirmed to be on board are Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Kristen Wiig as Cheetah, and Pedro Pascal.
Notably, Warner Bros. also offered the first official look at Zachary Levi’s Shazam! superhero costume at the Licensing Expo event.
Wonder Woman 2 is currently set to premiere in theaters on November 1, 2019. Shazam! will make a debut on April 5, 2019.
