Gal Gadot recently received a standing ovation at the Academy Screening after the screening of the movie Wonder Woman.
It is a big deal for any actor to be welcomed by a standing ovation for their performance. It is one of the biggest honors and Gal Gadot seems truly touched and humbled by the standing ovation she received after the screening of the female-centric superhero film in which she played the title role. Check out the tweet below to see the crowd applaud Gadot as she walks in for the Q&A soon after the screening.
At the same time, Christie Marston, the granddaughter of the creator of Wonder Woman, William Mouton Marston has praised the movie director Patty Jenkins for understanding the iconic heroine in a recent interview with BigFanBoy. “The Wonder Woman movie is the best thing that has happened to Wonder Woman since Lynda Carter brought her to life (as characterized in the original comics) back in the 1970s!.” Marston said. She further went on to praise Jenkins. She said in an interview with Bigfanboy, “Patty Jenkins not only understands Wonder Woman, but astounded me with her directing skills. Wonder Woman has ethics again!”
This appreciation is especially wonderful, considering that it comes from the legend’s granddaughter. It must also be noted that Martson is very critical of the Professor Marston biopic and its director Angela Robinson. Marston thinks that the makers of Professor Marston biopic are trying to ride on the success of the character. “This film has no relationship to Wonder Woman, other than using the name to sell to the public,” said Marston. “They are riding the coattails of the very (rightfully!) successful Wonder Woman movie, even to the point of copying the promo posters,” she further added.
Gal Gadot’s standalone is one of the best films by Warner Bros. and the DCEU. The film fetched more than $820 million at the box office, making it one of the most successful movies to be released this year so far. Meanwhile, Jenkins will be directing sequel, all set to release on December 13, 2019.
