With Star Wars: The Last Jedi having released and taken the box office by storm, fans are already talking about the tenth film under the Star Wars franchise, Star Wars: Episode IX. A new report has revealed the working title for the film. The title also has a bit of connection with what Yoda said to Luke in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
Director of Star Wars: Episode IX, J.J. Abrams had pitched his story to Lucasfilm only two days ago. We now already have the working title for the sequel. The working title for Episode IX, according to Fantha Tracks is Black Diamond. The business name of the film is Carbonado Industries (UK) Ltd. That is the name under which the film is being produced.
The two names have a sort of connection with Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Carbonado, as many of us might know is also referred to as black diamond. Known for its’ strong luminescence, it is also a term used by Yoda while talking to Luke in The Empire Strikes Back. Yoda, in the film tells Luke, “For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you. Here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere! Yes, even between the land and the ship.”
Lucasfilm is known to open different production companies to produce their Star War movies in the United Kingdom. While The Force Awakens was produced by Foodles Production (UK) Ltd, Space Bear Industries (UK) Ltd managed Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
There is no confirmation about the working title Black Diamond as yet from Lucasfilm. The screenplay for Star Wars: Episode IX will be written by Chris Terrio. The production for the film will begin in 2018, and the movie is expected to release on December 20, 2019. Meanwhile, the standalone Han Solo movie Solo: A Star Wars Story, will most probably hit the theaters on May 25, 2018.
