Ace comic book film director Zack Snyder has taken a fresh plunge in his career by launching his own production company under the banner of “The Stone Quarry,” which appears to be a rebranding of his Cruel & Unusual Films banner. Snyder revealed the news on Vero, where he usually drops most of his major announcements. The company will be producing film, television, as well as animation content.
Twitter user @ItsDavery shared the picture of the poster that Zack Snyder shared on Vero. It had The Stone Quarry logo as well as a teaser description of what the company is all about.
“New Year. New Identity. After 14 amazing years making groundbreaking entertainment under the Cruel & Unusual Films Moniker, we’re excited to unveil our new company identity as we move into 2019 and beyond. Although Cruel & Unusual Films will always be a proud part of our legacy, our new and exciting future creative endeavors will be mined, chiseled and honed in THE STONE QUARRY,” the poster read.
The poster in question also calls The Stone Quarry as “A sacred creative space that has been four years in the making.” You can check it out below.
Zack’s contribution to DC Extended Universe has been huge. He has helmed a number of DCEU comic book films in the past including Man of Steel, Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. It was only after he made a sudden exit during Justice League’s final stage to deal with his daughter’s demise that he never returned back. However, Snyder is still attached to the DCEU as a producer of Wonder Woman 1984, The Flash and Suicide Squad 2.
Fans are now eager to know which projects Snyder will be working on next under this new banner.
