‘Zack Snyder’s Wanda’: Marvel fans react to Doctor Strange 2 deleted scene of Scarlet Witch controlling a headless Kamar Taj sorcerer

Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) killing off the Illuminati in Doctor Strange 2 pales in comparison to the newly released deleted scene featuring the Scarlet Witch using a headless sorcerer of the mystic arts to kill the forces of Kamar-Taj. The scene in question has fans praising Olsen’s character, further intensifying the Scarlet Witch’s solo movie campaign.

Wanda sending in creatures like the Gargantos to capture America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) indeed was a merciful act, and any fans in doubt would sigh in relief for Wong’s (Benedict Wong) disciples after witnessing this gore-fest stunt viz. If MCU fans were impressed by Strange’s re-animated corpse scene in Doctor Strange 2, then the latest deleted scene from Multiverse of Madness shows the Scarlet Witch getting more inventive and darker in using a decapitated warrior’s corpse to fight off forces at the Kamar-Taj.

The clip features the witch using her particle manipulation power to force the sorcerers to use their weapons against their comrades. The scene ends with Wanda shrinking one of the warriors as his body collapses in and crushes him to death. Although the stunt sequence never came to fruition, some Marvel fans hope to see a similar darker fight sequence explored in future titles, as expressed in the tweets below.

The scene clearly shows If Sam Raimi had his way, Doctor Strange 2 would have contained more gore and bloodshed moments, making it Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first R-rated outing. Even so, for the PG-13 sequel, the blockbuster gets away with a few eerie sequences like snapping Professor X’s head, concealing Black Bolt’s mouth, spaghettification of Mr. Fantastic Four and shredding Captain Carter in two pieces with her shield.

Wanda Maximoff’s whereabouts in the MCU are currently a mystery with fans divided if she is MIA (Missing in action) or KIA (killed in action). Nevertheless, with MCU Phase 5 delving deeper into cosmic and mystics, its hard to think viewers have seen the last of the Scarlet Witch, especially with her nemesis getting her series, Agatha: Coven of Chaos set to debut in winter 2023.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is available to stream on Disney Plus.
