A new trailer of Tom Hardy’s Venom is scheduled to be rolled out at the CinemaCon exhibition in Las Vegas. But fans got the first glimpse of the reporter-turned-Spider-Man nemesis, Eddie Brock, via a quick clip which leaked online via Twitter.
The clip in question shows the alien symbiote envelops Eddie Brock, as he declares, “We are Venom.” It shows the monstrous character’s tongue slipping out. The actual look of Hardy ’s character is pretty much similar to what’s been seen in comics. It is interesting to note that in the clip Venom refers to the human/symbiote merged creature as “we” as he does in the comics.
The first teaser of the Sony Pictures Spider-Man spinoff film that debuted earlier this year disappointed fans as it did not feature Brock’s looks when he gets overpowered by the deadly symbiote. It is expected that the new trailer that’s going to release soon will meet up to fans’ expectations.
Notably, the eight second long leaked clip that shows Hardy’s symbiotic antihero has got mixed reactions from fans. While some fans are thrilled to see how the monstrous character’s symbiotic skin looks, some other claim the CGI antihero looks sick. There are also some who think that the clip has increased the hype for the film’s release among fans. You can check out fans reaction to the clip in the tweets below.
Ruben Fleischer is directing Venom from a script by Scott Rosenberg (Jumanji), Jeff Pinkner (The Dark Tower) and Kelly Marcel (Fifty Shades of Grey). Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Amy Pascal are producing the film along with Executive Producers David Householter and Stan Lee.
Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Jenny Slate and Woody Harrelson in the lead roles. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is also rumored for a cameo in the film. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on October 5, 2018.
