Actor Sylvester Stallone, who is popular for portraying the role of Rambo, teased the start of production work on his upcoming film, Rambo 5 aka Rambo: Last Blood, on social media on Tuesday. The filming will reportedly take place in London, Bulgaria, and the Canary Islands. Stallone first Rambo film First Blood was released in 1982 which was followed by 1985’s Rambo: First Blood Part II, 1988’s Rambo III and 2008’s Rambo.
The 72-year-old actor recently shared two new photos of himself in character as John Rambo on Instagram. The first picture shows the actor dressed as a cowboy wearing a gray plaid shirt, tan gloves, a cowboy hat, and chaps, while the second picture shows him sitting on a horse on set wearing a black cloak and a black brimmed hat.

Notably, the last Rambo movie ended with the troubled Vietnam Veteran finally going home after decades away and making peace with his violent past. Rambo 5 will see him returning back to action to save a friend’s daughter who has been taken by a Mexican cartel. The film will be directed by Adrian Grunberg from a screenplay by Matthew Cirulnick.
“Rambo teams up with a journalist to track down and rescue a group of local girls that have been kidnapped by a Mexican sex trafficking ring, after trying to settle down to a quiet peaceful life stateside at the family ranch in Arizona after spending decades abroad,” the film’s official synopsis reads.
Stallone has been hard at work getting back into shape for Rambo 5. Last month, he shared a workout video of himself wearing a John Rambo shirt with the caption “Getting ready for Rambo, Totally immersed in it! 100%. welcome to the jungle.”
Rambo 5 doesn’t have a release date attached yet.
