After releasing a new trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald during the Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2018, Warner Bros. has now released some hi-res stills of moments from the trailer.
UPDATE: Two new hi-res stills were just released which shows a young Newt and another still shows him coming out of his suitcase which is bewitched with an undetectable extension charm.
The pictures offer a closer look at Professor Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law), Newt Scamander ((Eddie Redmayne), Tina Goldstein (Katherine Waterston), Vinda Rosier (Poppy Corby-Tuech) and the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp). Earlier on Monday, the studio also released a batch of hi-res photos.

Talking more about the new Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald trailer, it opens with Professor Albus Dumbledore teaching a young Newt Scamander in Defense Against the Dark Arts class at Hogwarts, which is the world’s most prestigious school of witchcraft. In the trailer, Newt reveals that his biggest fear is “having to work in an office.”
The trailer focuses on Johnny Depp’s Grindelwald who can be seen advocating for wizards coming out of the shadows. There’s one scene in the trailer where Dumbledore tells Scamander that he can’t move against Grindelwald, so it has to be him who needs to take on the powerful Dark wizard. The young wizard agrees to help unaware of the dangers and consequences that lie ahead. There’s also a glimpse of a showdown between Scamander and Grindelwald.
The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sequel story will focus on a young Albus Dumbledore who recruits Newt Scamander to combat the growing threat of the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald and his followers who want to pitch the wizarding world and the human world against each other. Grindelwald wants to make certain that only pure-blood wizards rule over all non-magical beings.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald has been directed by David Yates from a screenplay by J.K. Rowling. The film also stars Eddie Redmayne, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Zoe Kravitz, Claudia Kim, and Callum Turner.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is scheduled to debut in theaters on Nov. 16, 2018.
