Justice League: Exclusion Of The Flash’s Wayne Invented 2nd Suit Explained

Justice League director Zack Snyder has revealed that initially there were plans to give The Flash a second suit at the end of the movie. Released last year, Justice League saw Batman bringing together a group of superheroes to battle Steppenwolf and his army. The film introduced Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, who is imbued with super-speed after getting struck by lightning.

The Justice League director took to social media platform Vero to reveal that he wanted to introduce a new costume built using Wayne technology for Barry Allen aka The Flash in Justice League. However, Snyder ultimately decided not to move forward with the new costume plan as he wanted the directors of The Flash solo movie, namely John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, to design their own outfit for the Scarlet Speedster. The Flash solo movie is currently scheduled for a 2020 release.

I wanted to give the Flash solo film director a chance to put his or her spin on it so no more a Concept,” Synder wrote on Vero.

The Justice League director also posted a picture of Ezra Miller’s first Flash costume test. Notably, Miller’s suit in the movie was comprised of 148 different pieces.

“[Throwback Thursday] to first Flash costume test,” Snyder captioned the Flash costume picture on Vero.

Furthermore, when a fan asked Synder on Vero why The Flash’s lighting in Justice League was blue and not yellow as seen in the comic books, he responded saying that the lighting is actually yellow and that the blue is just a highlight.

The Justice League director notably stepped down from the director’s chair due to the unfortunate demise of his daughter. Joss Whedon was roped in to finish production, which involved a lot of in-depth reshoots. Snyder frequently interacts with his fans on Vero to share with them details about his version of the Justice League.
