Rambo 5 is currently in production and Sylvester Stallone’s updates on social media assure that there won’t be any hiccups though it is still yet to finish up on the casting process. But no hurdles seem to stop the actor from continuing to work on the project and that includes going back to the screenplay for some reworks.
Recently, Stallone shared a new post on Instagram which shows him on the set of Rambo 5 working on its screenplay between shots. “A writer’s job is never done… Still working on the screen play in between shots of operating an earth mover…” reads the description.
Since the start of filming, the actor has continued to share behind-the-scenes stills from the set of Rambo 5. Earlier this week, Stallone shared shots of himself in character as John Rambo. A set clip and an image also show him seated on a horse and doing some prep for his scenes. You can check out the photos below.
Earlier this month it was revealed that Sylvester Stallone’s Rambo 5 is officially titled as “Last Blood”. Many have taken the title as an indication that this could be the last installment that fans will get to see the actor as John Rambo. But nothing is certain at the moment.
Not much is known about the project except that the plot revolves around Rambo’s quest to save a friend’s daughter who has been taken by a Mexican cartel. The project is being directed by Adrian Grunberg and if all goes well the movie could make its 2019 release date.
In other news, Stallone has a new project planned for his recently formed production company Balboa Productions. The last script for Rambo 5 which was eventually scrapped was based on the novel Hunter for which Sly managed to buy the movie rights in 2009.
Deadline reports that the actor will be starring in the Hunter movie. The book centers over a character named Nathaniel Hunter, whose hyper-tracking skills are employed to hunt down a raging beast, a half-human terror created by a renegade agency that is threatening to wreak havoc on civilization. No wonder Sly planned to incorporate the story for a Rambo movie although it wouldn’t have been the action adventure that long-time fans would have expected.
