Deadpool 2 Colossus Actor Talks Franchise’s Future With R-Rating

Still of Stefan Kapicic as Colossus from Deadpool 2/ 20th Century Fox

Deadpool 2 Colossus Actor Talks Franchise’s Future With R-Rating

Actor Stefan Kapicic, who portrayed the character of Colossus in both Deadpool and Deadpool 2, is confident that the future films from the franchise will remain unaffected by the proposed Disney and 20th Century Fox deal, which when it gets sealed will see Deadpool became a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

During a recent a press conference in London (via ScreenGeek), Kapicic spoke about the potential Disney/Fox merger and how it will impact the Deadpool franchise. He said that the R-Rated Deadpool franchise has its own unique tone and making any slight changes to the franchise might not be acceptable by fans.

We’ll see.” The Colossus actor said. “You know those are the questions we cannot answer because we don’t know what is going to happen. But you know, Deadpool is such a successful franchise, so whoever takes over, I don’t think they’re going to change anything – and I don’t it that to be changed because you know Deadpool is Deadpool. It needs to stay R-Rated. You don’t want to destroy something that created so much money and first of all, you need to satisfy fans. So if they make that mistake, they’re going to (Colossus voice) need to fight dirty.”

Kapicic also spoke about the franchise’s X-Force spinoff film, which is currently in the making, and a potential Deadpool 3 film.

Well, we have [an] extremely successful franchise, so there [are] rumors of X-Force and Deadpool 3,” the actor said. “We will see what’s going to happen. Just wait. But we’re not allowed to say.”

Talking more about the X-Force movie, Deadpool 2 co-writer Rhett Reese recently said in an interview that X-Force will be raunchier than Deadpool 2.

At the moment there’s no information over which X-Force team members who were introduced in Deadpool 2 will make it to the X-Force solo movie. However, Reese has confirmed that the decision as to which characters will be made a part of the X-Force team in the upcoming Deadpool spinoff movie will be solely taken by the director Drew Goddard. X-Force solo film is expected to go into production in October this year.

David Leitch directed Deadpool 2 is currently running in theatres. The film has already raked in around $1.92 billion at the global box office.
