2018 has undoubtedly been a great year for Marvel Studios, all thanks to the massive success of Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War. The film studio is now hoping to repeat the success history one more time with the release of highly anticipated Ant-Man and the Wasp.
With Ant-Man and the Wasp all ready to debut at the beginning of next month, ticket seller Fandango has confirmed that the film will have a total runtime of 1 hours and 58 minutes, almost the same runtime of the original Ant-Man. Notably, Black Panther had a runtime of 2 hours and 15 minutes, while Avengers: Infinity War was 2 hours 40 minutes long.
Ant-Man and the Wasp will follow Scott Lang’s story after he joined the battle between Iron Man and Captain America in Captain America: Civil War. The film will be set before Mad Titan Thanos’ arrival on Earth.
During an interview with Collider, Director Peyton Reed revealed that Ant-Man and the Wasp is a “free-standing” tale and that it deals more with Civil War than anything that happens in Infinity War.
In the Ant-Man sequel film, Paul Rudd will return as Scott Lang alongside Evangeline Lilly’s Hope van Dyne, who will suit up as the Wasp. The two will head on to a mission to bring back Hope’s mother Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), who is the original Wasp, from the Quantum Realm.
A recent Ant-Man and the Wasp casting list spotted on Twitter claims that comic book character Elihas Starr, better known as Egghead, will make an appearance in the upcoming film. As per the listing, Fringe actor Michael Cerveris will play the role of Elihas Starr in the upcoming film. Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), who has the ability to be invisible and intangible, is the main villain in the film.
Ant-Man and the Wasp debuts in theaters on July 6, so stay tuned to Pursue News for more updates about the movie.
