‘Sue Storm shortlist’ – Mila Kunis rumored to be in talks for Fantastic Four role, Vanessa Kirby, Jodie Comer & more in running, Adam Driver for Reed Richards

Director Matt Shakman may have found his Reed Richards and Sue Storm for MCU Phase 6’s Fantastic Four and if insider reports are to be believed, Mila Kunis and Reed Richards could end up with the roles. Recent rumors suggest multiple actresses are in the running for Susan Storm a.k.a Invisible Woman role. Meanwhile, it’s starting to look like Adam Driver could become Earth-616’s Mr.Fantastic – a role earlier portrayed in MCU’s Doctor Strange 2 by John Krasinski.

MCU fans are expecting a casting announcement for Fantastic Four anytime now since rumors surfaced that Marvel Studios had shortlisted actresses such as Kunis and Vanessa Kirby for Sue Storm. Grace Randolph was the first to claim the Mission Impossible: Fallout star (known for her performance in The Crown) is in the running to play to portray the character in Marvel’s first family feature.

Other names mentioned by insider Randolph include M3GAN actress Allison Williams and Jodie Comer (known for her role in Free Guy, The Last Duel, etc). It was insisted that these actresses and Mila Kunis are just in the running to portray the Invisible Woman, and no decision has been made yet as of this writing.

Another credible insider MyTimetoShineHello also backed the rumor stating Kunis is “just talks for now”. Nonetheless, the scooper also added casting for Sue is close and could reach a conclusion next week.

Adam Driver seems to be Marvel Studios’ final choice for Reed Richards. But not Fantastic Four fans are convinced Kunis could portray Sue with some pointing out the character’s blonde hair as a vital feature. Similarly, there has been support for Kirby and Comer and naysayers not on board with the current shortlist.

There’s no word yet who Marvel plans to hire to play Johnny Storm a.k.a Human Torch. However, there is some indication it could be a POC. But fans are advised to take these rumors with a grain of salt at least until trade outlets announce the casting or better when the studio brings its A-game for this July’s San Diego Comic-Con Hall-H presentation.

Fantastic Four is scheduled to release on February 15, 2025.
