Marvel’s Runaways: Virginia Gardner Wants Xavin Character In Season 2

Marvel’s teen superhero drama Runaways was recently renewed for a second season. Hulu surprised the fans with the big news revealing that the next installment will feature 13 episodes. The show is yet to start the production. Meanwhile, actress Virginia Gardner who plays the role of Karolina Dean revealed what she wants to see in the next season.

In an interview with Elle, Gardner revealed that she wants the series to introduce a character named Xavin from the Marvel comics. In the comics, Xavin is De’zean’s son and later he gets married to Karolina.

Xavin. I want to see him come for season 2! He’s the shapeshifter that shows up to be [Karolina’s] husband and then I’m like, “…ah, I’m into chicks.” Then he turns into a girl, so I’m interested to see if they could bring a character like that into the show next season,” Gardener told the abovementioned publication.

Gardener plays the first ever gay Marvel superhero on screen, Karolina. Her character has the ability of flight and glows with rainbow-colored light. Her strengths include shooting beams of light.

As reported earlier, Runaways will start its principle photography in late April. The filming will take place in Los Angeles under the working title “RUGRATS.”

The network is yet to reveal the release date for season 2. Meanwhile, it is expected to be launched late this year as the production is scheduled to end by September.

Runaways Season 1 ended with a few cliffhangers. As the season ended they found out that they have been framed for Destiny’s murder. When the show returns it is expected to reveal the consequences of the murder that they never committed. In addition, it is expected to tie the loose ends.

We haven’t started shooting yet, so I have no idea what’s going to happen next season, but I think we’ll see more of an evolution, especially now that we’ve run away,” Gardner said about the upcoming season. “I’m sure at some point we’ll have another confrontation with them, which will feel very different now that they know about our powers. I’m also interested to see what’s going to happen to Karolina and Jonah [played by Julian McMahon] because obviously that was set up in a really big way in the last episodes. I’m interested to see if they’re going to be in cahoots, and if not, where that will go.”

Marvel’s Runaways Season 2 is expected to premiere this fall. Be sure to visit Pursue News for more information and updates.
