Warner Bros. took the CinemaCon stage on Tuesday to screen a new footage from the highly anticipated film Aquaman. The footage showed off Jason Momoa plays the titular role as Arthur Curry, Patrick Wilson’s Orm the Ocean Master as well as a sneak peek of Abdul-Mateen’s Black Manta. It showed the people of Atlantis riding seahorses and futuristic submarines and Aquaman pulling a submarine out of the water.
“I’m a blunt instrument,” Momoa’s Aquaman tells Mera (Amber Heard) in the trailer. “And I’m pretty bloody good at it.”
Aquaman director James Wan along with stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II were all in attendance at the Las Vegas event. The presentation was moderated by Will Arnett, the Lego Batman voice star.
Before screening the footage, Wan revealed that the movie is nowhere near ready, so, he didn’t want to showcase anything on the stage. However, Warner Bros. still made him cut some footage for the event.
While addressing the CinemaCon attendees, Momoa compared the movie to the adventure and scale of Indiana Jones, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. He also praised Will Arnett’s work calling him “the best fu***ng Batman.”
Some of the attendees who got a chance to watch the footage took to Twitter to share their excitement for the film. You can check their reaction in the tweets below.
Talking more about the solo DC film, the film delves into the story of a young Aquaman (Momoa) who returns to Atlantis after spending a long time away from home to challenge his brother for the underwater kingdom’s throne
As far as the first Aquaman trailer is concerned, it seems fans will have to wait for long as Wan has already revealed that work on the film is still pretty much underway. It is rumored that the trailer might be revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con 2018 event in July this year.
Aquaman is set to hit theatres on December 21, 2018.

First #Aquaman footage shows rough VFX as the story delves deep underwater into the world of Atlantis. Patrick Wilson's Orm rasps at the end, "War is coming to the surface and I'm bringing the wrath of the Seven Seas with me." #CinemaCon

Warner Bros. just showed the first Aquaman trailer: looks epic.
Patrick Wilson looks great at Ocean Master. There's a massive war with men riding sharks fighting a foot army. And Black Manta looks brilliant. The Black Manta we deserve is coming! #CinemaCon

Just screened a work in progress trailer for Aquaman and it looks way beyond the scope of anything DC has done yet. Blade Runner underwater with more superhero action .
