While many are still reeling from the hype for Spider-Man: No Way Home, MCU fans received another treat in the latest Hawkeye episode 5. After more than 3 years since the airing of Daredevil season 3 finale, the last time Vincent D’Onofrio appeared as Kingpin – the “Fat-Man” is back and this time, as a big bad in the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline.

Hawkeye episode 5’s ending moments delivered a shocking surprise that many have been speculating for long. Eleanor Bishop (Vera Farmiga) is in fact behind all the conspiracy surrounding Armand’s murder. Furthermore, Eleanor hires Yelena (Florence Pugh) to take out Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner).

Twitter is blowing up with many Hawkeye fans buzzing over the revelation confirming the Marvel Studios’ show’s Daredevil connection. Readers can check some of the reactions below.

Throughout the episode, a few teases hint at the incoming big reveal with Easter eggs like Fat Man. Moreover, Barton reveals to Maya (Alaqua Cox) he was tipped off by an informant working for her boss a.k.a Uncle Fisk on the night when Ronin killed Echo’s father.

It will be interesting to see how Kingpin’s role will play out in Hawkeye and further connect to the larger MCU Phase 4. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has already confirmed Charlie Cox’s arrival. Added, reports also claim the Daredevil character will appear in four upcoming Marvel projects.

It’s still unclear if Kingpin is the same character that fans knew from the Netflix series. Or perhaps, Marvel Studios has rebooted the character with a new arc. Let’s hope for more answers when Hawkeye episode 6 airs next Wednesday on Disney Plus.
